Because they are hard to get Nintendo items so there is a massive black market for them. It happens with all the Nintendo stuff that is hard to find in stores.

Because Nintendo artificially hypes them by under delivering them to shops. Hence they are rare, talked about and people want them more and are more likely to impulse buy them when they ARE available.

What you get is a decent NES emulator which is limited to 30 games, with a stupidly short controller cable and sans power adapter.

They’ll be going for 20 bucks in a few months.

Because they are hard to get and people are assholes. Even my brother tried to go out and buy a few to resell figureing reselling three or four would pay for the one he would keep. But when he went to buy them the GameStop he went to said they only got like 6 of them.

My gf mentioned to me that she’d like to have one a few weeks ago. I sputtered and attempted not to choke on my breakfast while laughing. She hadn’t seen the shortages and scalper prices yet.

She looked for it on Amazon to prove me wrong, then sadly admitted defeat.

Later that afternoon, I loaded RetroPie on to one of my Raspberry Pi 3Bs, connected my unused PS3 controllers to it, and now she has the same thing for free.

Nuts to these jerks.
